Flight of Demon's Shade

Slain, my armor did not crack, surrounded by bodies.
It lay, in a slumber only known to those who sleep.
Maybe i'll rest as it does, or only have the brief moments I have.

...Family is nothing to me right now, i still cast my shadow
I do not need them to kill you.

Disembodied voice, calling to me, drawing into my embrace.
Ending the solitude, I was alone. The aftermath
Finally here, this war over, corpses
Splattered everywhere surrounding one entity.

Dead, the only word that rings "true"

What is the truth, when the lies course through every pump, bursting free from each step as you walk, the beast
still inching forward, Nay
its shadow reaching out , lunging with each flowing claw.

"End me you sick bastard! I dare you"

I lift the only weapon I have left, and that is my cold,
uncaring stare, claws forward as is wings push through this cave of lies.

3....2....1

I prepare for impact, all that is left is cold, i stiffen
And then nothing. Finally Sleep.
